Howell Laboratories Announces MIOX On-Site Generation System to be reviewed per DNV GL’s Qualification of New Technology
Bridgton, ME, March 20, 2014: Howell Laboratories Inc. (HLI) today announced that their mixed oxidant solution (MOS) MIOX generator product lines and system designs will be reviewed per DNV GL’s DNV-RP-A203: Qualification of New Technology. Recognized worldwide, this process applies a systematic approach to the qualification of new technology, ensuring that it functions reliably within specified limits.
According to Joseph McDonnell, Vice President of Marine Products at HLI, “Since Howell has successfully supplied these systems to the US Navy standards for over a decade, we now seek to formally establish that this technology, and these systems are equally appropriate for the Cruise Line, Offshore Oil and other maritime industries”
Unlike other maritime water treatment options, the on-site generation of disinfectant requires only Salt, Electricity and Water to make the chemicals needed for both recreational and potable water. Furthermore, it replaces the need to purchase, transport and store dangerous chemicals; and it also provides a safer, more cost-effective, and environmentally responsible system. The systems are fully US EPA and CDC approved.
